  • Manager of the OAIster project, a union catalog of over 10 million records that link to digital resources
  • Co-develop the OAIster interface for maximum usability
  • Supervise programmers in developing a toolset for the transformation of metadata into the DLPS metadata format, and the methodical harvesting of metadata from repositories
  • Develop workflow for filtering and massaging metadata retrieved via OAI

  • Was responsible for describing and planning the Agricultural Ontology Service (AOS), a central reference system designed to contain all terminology and relationships of the agricultural domain, to serve FAO and its agricultural partners for use in indexing and accessing agricultural and similarly related materials
  • Heavily involved in research into Topic Map (XTM) models for possible use with the AOS system, and in developing demonstration models of agricultural sub-domains
  • Evaluated the information architecture and information management of various web sites at FAO, and developed plans for their improvement
  • Researched and developed new approaches, and evaluated the current approach, for organizing the AGROVOC agricultural thesaurus for better ease of navigation by daily-use indexers
